  1. Modern film actors are now in full colour.

  2. The average length of a film is dependant on the number of minutes in it.

  3. There are no new films, all stories have already been told.

  4. There is an unwritten rule regarding sequels, the first film must be good, the second film abysmal, and the third a complete waste of money (both the producer's and the film goer's). Anything after the third film should be so unlike the original as to be unrecognisable. There have been very few exceptions to this rule.

  5. The best film of all time hasn't been made yet.

  6. Special effects are used to a greater and greater extent these days in an effort to make the audience really believe they are watching this rubbish.

  7. 17.71% of films are shown in cinemas.

  8. A remake is a film based on a previously released film, but with all the good bits removed.

  9. The first film was made in 1798, by the painter Turner, however he stirred his rice pudding and destroyed it.

  10. The Oscars are named after a king of Sweden and Norway, who won the first Academy Award for best screenplay. He was succeeded by Oscar II who wasn't as good, though there were some good action set pieces.
