Centenary Bridge, over the River Aire, is in the centre of Leeds and has been praised as creating a movement framework that enhances the spatial dynamic by forging links with surrounding areas and reducing severance. A spokeswoman for English Heritage explained that this meant that the bridge allowed people to move freely from one side of the river to the other.

Suffolk police chiefs were thrilled when their new £2 million pound helicopter swooped to make its first arrest following a burglary in Ipswich, but the suspect, found by thermal imaging equipment, was a man who'd climbed onto his roof to get a better look at the helicopter.

The Millennium Dome missed out after a group of Japanese tourists mistook Billy Smart's Circus for the South London attraction. Travelling by bus to the Dome in Greenwich, the five Japanese visitors hopped off in nearby Blackheath when they saw the lights of the circus tent. The group paid admission and it was only two hours later when they asked to see the body zone that circus officials realized the mistake.

Asked why he had taken the weathervane, Maudsley told the court that he had climbed onto the church roof looking for lead, but there wasn't any. He continued "if I came home empty handed in the middle of the night, the wife would have thought I was up to no good."
