The Surrealist Worker, is pleased to announce the first SW Turnip Prize.
Please note that this competition is not (currently) connected to the Wedmore Turnip Prize previously awarded. See www.theturnipprize.co.uk
The Turnip Prize 2002.The Turnip Prize is a nearly new award which will be given to the most outstanding piece of art entered for consideration by a panel of judges made up from the elite of the Surrealist Worker Magazine staff.

Any form of artwork is eligible for entry, painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, music... the list is endless. All the entrant has to do is send a representative file to the competition judges ( ) - full details follow.

Conditions of entry:
  1. The judges' decision is final.
  2. Closing date for entries is January 15th 2002.
  3. All entries must be sent to .
  4. Non-audio entries must be in the form of an attached file of no greater size than 100KB. If more than one view is to be submitted (e.g. to show all aspects of a sculpture) then the method described below for audio entries must be followed if the total file size exceeds 100KB.
  5. Audio entries must be preceded by a descriptive mail including details of file size and format. A reply will be sent giving further details of how/when to send the file itself. Do not send the file before the time/date specified in the reply. In the case of a late entry, the initial descriptive mail will be counted as the date of entry.
  6. Multiple entries (of different works) are acceptable.
  7. Entry of an artwork is deemed to be an acceptance of these rules.
  8. The right to amend these rules is reserved by the sponsors of the prize. Any rule modifications will be updated on this page, and distributed through the Surrealist Worker mailing list.
  9. The prize will be of little, or no monetary value.
