Entry was forced into a padlocked work store on Friday July 28th. A 1½ ton trailer containing four digger buckets was stolen, as were a quantity of petrol driven tools and mowers, a wheel driven mower, a sit on mower, two chainsaws, an industrial strimmer, a disc cutter, a Honda petrol generator, a power washer and a Bosch hammer drill. It is thought the removal of these items would have necessitated the use of a vehicle.

A circus man in Bor, Yugoslavia, who has already eaten more than 22,500 razor blades, a ton of brassware, cutlery, nuts, bolts and assorted ironware, has now bought himself a bus - which he intends to eat within the next two years.

It appears to us that Mr Dewey would have been wielding a double-edged sword in the shape of a boomerang that would have come home to plague him and beat him by a large majority.

Christchurch - A witness in the Christchurch Magistrate's Court yesterday said he helped a man wearing a blood-stained shirt push the body of a woman into the back of a small van parked in a picnic area one night last month. He said the body was covered with a bedspread which was "absolutely covered with blood". After the man had driven off without saying "Thank you" or "Goodbye" and without offering him a cigarette, he though murder must have been done and notified the police.

The customs search was continued when the ship arrived at Tilbury - and the half-ounce was found by a specially trained dog hidden in a hose reel.
